Jenny Randall | BABCP Accredited Therapist
I’m a BABCP-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) practitioner, Clinical Supervisor, and Associate Lecturer, with over 14 years experience supporting people towards meaningful recovery.
My career has taken me across NHS services, private practice, and community projects — each one deepening my belief that therapy should be accessible, inclusive, and shaped around the person, not the problem. This is both a personal and professional mission for me — to ensure that therapy spaces welcome and work for everyone, whatever their needs or communication style.
Early Inspiration
Early in my training, I was deeply moved by feedback from clients who attended our workshops. They told us they wanted therapy to feel less negative — to leave sessions feeling hopeful about the future, not weighed down. That insight has stayed with me ever since.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked to create a balance: offering space to discuss and process difficulties with honesty and compassion, while also instilling hope and helping people see the possibilities ahead.
What Evidence-Based Practice Means
When I say my work is evidence-based, I mean that the therapies I use are grounded in research and clinical outcomes. They’ve been shown to help people make meaningful, lasting changes in their mental health and wellbeing.
But evidence-based doesn’t mean rigid or one-size-fits-all. It means I draw from proven approaches — like CBT, EMDR, and DBT — and adapt them to suit you: your goals, your pace, your way of thinking.
It’s about combining the science of what works with the art of listening, understanding, and tailoring therapy to your unique experience.
BABCP Accredited
Being accredited by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) means my training, clinical practice, and ongoing development meet the highest UK standards for CBT. Accreditation requires:
- Rigorous initial training in evidence-based therapy
- Extensive supervised clinical experience
- Commitment to continuing professional development
- Adherence to a strict code of ethics and conduct
For you, this means reassurance that the therapy you receive is grounded in best practice, delivered by someone accountable to a respected professional body, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of care.
Neurodiversity-Informed Practice
As a Neurodiversity Champion within the NHS and an Associate Lecturer at the University of Chester, I specialise in adapting therapy for autistic and ADHD clients. This includes:
- Affirming identity and strengths
- Respecting communication preferences
- Creating emotionally safe spaces for exploration and growth
I have a particular interest in supporting people navigating masking and rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD), helping you build self-compassion, resilience, and authentic connection.

Beyond the Therapy Room
Alongside my clinical work, I supervise and mentor other therapists, contribute to training programmes, and design accessible, neuroaffirming resources that make complex concepts easier to understand.
I’m lucky to live by the coast, and I love being outdoors — walking, breathing in the sea air, and finding calm by the water. That sense of space and grounding is something I try to bring into my therapy spaces too, whether we meet in person or online.
